We are looking for a trainee to join the Funding and Investor Relations division. The role entails assisting the division in its investor relations activities. The selected candidate will report to the Team Lead of Investor Relations and the Head of division.

 

The ESM is the permanent crisis resolution mechanism for the euro area countries. It provides financial assistance to Members facing financing difficulties. European leaders have agreed to an expanded mandate for the ESM, which it will implement in the years ahead. The ESM will have a stronger role in the analysis of financial stability risks and design of policy measures in programmes, jointly with the European Commission; it will provide the Single Resolution Board with a financial backstop to support effective and orderly resolution of banks During the euro crisis it has launched six financial assistance programmes for five countries, provided financial support, monitored repayment capacity, and engaged with partner institutions for programme design in areas of financial interest.

 

The ESM is a unique place to work with around 220 individuals from around the world committed to making a difference to the future of the euro area. It recruits talented professionals of any nationality from both the private and public sector.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Contribute to the division’s Investor Relations activities.
  • Assist the team in preparing for key events with investors and dealers.
  • Run ad-hoc analyses, input data, and prepare investor reports using the in-house database.
  • Prepare presentations and assist in marketing activities.
  • Prepare and publish online content on the ESM website and social media.
  • Assist in preparing reports and conducting analyses on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) topics.
  • Provide administrative support to the Head of division as needed.

 

KEY BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

  • University degree in economics, finance, or any other relevant area. Ideally holding a Master’s degree or working towards its completion
  • General knowledge of capital markets would be a strong asset
  • Web content management skills (e.g. Dupral) are highly desirable
  • Excellent oral and written English skills, with any additional languages considered an asset.

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work together as needed with a variety of internal and external parties
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactivity, reliability, and accuracy
  • An interest in ESG topics would be an advantage.

  • Duration: 6 months, with the option to extend for another six months
