We are looking for a trainee to join the IT Corporate Systems team within the IT and Facilities Management division. The division aims to offer staff modern, state-of-the-art tools and systems to enhance productivity. It operates on a very modern, highly leveraged model with outsourced providers. The selected candidate will help the team to implement, utilise and maintain modern IT functionalities at the ESM to improve the way of working for staff.

 

The ESM is the permanent crisis resolution mechanism for the euro area countries. It provides financial assistance to Members facing financial difficulties. European leaders have agreed to an expanded mandate for the ESM, which it will implement in the years ahead. The ESM will have a stronger role in the analysis of financial stability risks and design of policy measures in programmes, jointly with the European Commission; it will provide the Single Resolution Board with a financial backstop to support effective and orderly resolution of banks. During the euro crisis it has launched six financial assistance programmes for five countries, provided financial support, monitored repayment capacity, and engaged with partner institutions for programme design in areas of financial interest.

 

The ESM is a unique place to work with around 220 individuals committed to making a difference to the future of the euro area. The ESM recruits talented professionals of all nationalities from both the private and public sector.

 

KEY ACTIVITIES

During a six-month period, the selected candidate will closely collaborate with ESM colleagues to support the Corporate Systems team at the ESM. More specifically, the selected candidate's responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with stakeholders to understand, analyse, and document requirements.
  • Actively investigating potential solutions with Microsoft 365 or other strategic systems of the ESM.

  • Identifying and performing new approaches for change management and staff engagement.

  • Developing and documenting user stories to enhance collaboration and staff/team productivity.

  • Contributing to stakeholder exchanges on useful improvements.

  • Collaborating and coordinating with the team for solution delivery.

 

KEY BACKGROUND

  • A candidate (or recent graduate within one year of graduation) for a university degree in Information Systems Information Technology, or Computer Science or similar

  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools, in particular SharePoint or Microsoft Power Automate would be an asset

  • Excellent command of English, both written and oral
